Making an impression with Royston Labels

Arden Engraving has been running some recent foiling tests with Royston Labels, who have been trying out our unique 3D sculptured refraction tooling.
We applied extremely high tolerance machining techniques onto flat foil stamping tools to achieve some amazing results for their gin and vodka labels.
We also used our lenticular hot foil effects, which allows for the foiled area to display differently when seen from different angles and enables consumers to read both words individually when shifting the label back and forth under light.
George Ashmore, technical manager at Royston Labels, was thrilled with the results. He said: “We are delighted with the results of these trial labels, and excited about what these newly developed techniques will achieve in the future. In our opinion, the possibilities are endless.”
The foiled skull design was created using a sophisticated 3D refraction technique, and was printed twice, using silver and blue foil to illustrate the differing effects that can be achieved with alternative colour palettes.
The technique allows for detailed line work that gives the image a sense of texture, depth and dynamism, which will make it really stand out on the shelf.
